Behind the Books: June 2016

Behind The Books JuneBehind the Books is a monthly personal update. I’ve been blogging for about a month now, and it was all quite eventful and maybe even a bit crazy! Want to know what’s going on with the blog, what I’ve been up to and what books I’ve hauled in the past month? Get yourself some coffee or tea, get comfortable and enjoy!

The Blog

I can’t believe how much I’ve done for the blog over the past month and a half. I’ve written so much, read so many books (to review), came up with so many new ideas and definitely broke my “number of times I’ve used my camera in a month” record. I started doing Top Ten Tuesday, became a Book Depository Affiliate (link!), schedule my social media (which I really recommend!) and changed my TBRs and Wrap Ups from quarterly to monthly. And I’ve gotten board thingies to use as backdrops from my bookish photos. Writing/Reading this I’m like “Whaaaat?! How did I do all of that?!” I’ve had blogs before, but I’ve never done anything like this and I’m loving it so much!

I’m almost finished with college and I’ll be working on my blog so much more now! I’ve got a bunch of reviews, tags, Book Babbles and fun Top Ten Tuesdays coming up and I’m starting to schedule summer posts. I’m so excited for everything!

A Personal Update

Personally, things have been crazy. I went through a really bad few weeks in which I was lucky I scheduled my posts, otherwise the blog would’ve been quite a fail… Luckily, things have turned around since last week! I’ve caught up with my college work, applied for internships and even god a job! (As in, I’m starting my internship at a Dutch publisher in mid August! EEEEKK!!!) This also means I’ll be moving out to Utrecht (or at least somewhere in the area) this summer. Which also means I gotta find a summer job to save some money. Things still need to be taken care of, but I’m sure it’ll all work out. Basically my life has completely turned around in like.. A week. Woah.

May/June Book Haul

I wanted to do some kind of Book Haul at the end of each month, but with the TBRs and Wrap Ups, that didn’t really work out. I thought I’d just include it in my Behind the Book posts! This month is really messy for me, because I’m not sure which books I got before and after my last BtB, so I’ve just included the ones I’m sure I bought in the last few weeks.

In no particular order….
1. Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire & Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas
2. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
3. Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets by J. K. Rowling
4. End of Days by Susan Ee (As eBook)
5. The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa
6. Carry On by Rainbow Rowell (In Dutch)

I just realised that’s ten books in the space of one and a half month… That’s ridiculous, hahaha!

Currently Reading

I’m currently reading the third Throne of Glass book, Heir of Fire! (By Sarah J. Maas, in case you didn’t know.) I’m also listening to my very first audiobook! The Heir by Kiera Cass is a lot of fun to listen to and I already can’t wait to listen to The Crown!

  • This was so much fun to read! It’s so exciting that you’ll be starting an internship with a Dutch publisher and you should totally tell me what it’s like! Also, I really love Utrecht and I’m sure you’ll have a great time there (:

    • I’m definitely going to blog about my internship when it starts, I’m so excited! I’ve been in Utrecht before and I loved it so I’m super excited about moving there. 🙂
