Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Have you ever read a book and thought “Oh my god, I want to do that!” Well, this week, it’s all about the things books have made me want to do or learn. Some are pretty serious, others not so much. Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading about this week’s Top Ten Tuesday!
Top Ten Things Books Have Made Me Want To Do or Learn About After Reading Them
1. Be a Shadowhunter
I am obsessed with The Shadowhunter Chronicles, so does being a Shadowhunter count for doing something? I know being a Shadowhunter is difficult, and you gotta fight demons and stuff, but holy moly, I want to be a Shadowhunter! Also, I’d like to move to Idris ASAP.
2. Make Art
I recently read Lady Midnight, and I was super jealous of Julian’s art studio! I’m quite a crappy artist, but practice makes perfect, right? And also, any YA character that is an artist describes their world so beautifully… How could you not want to be an artist?
3. Learn How to Read Tarot Cards
My interest in Tarot kind of started when I found the Shadowhunter Tarot cards, but that was mostly for the art. Then I read The Raven Boys, and I got super interested! I went to this event a few weeks ago where did they did Tarot workshops and readings, but I was too late to sign up. I did find this really interesting blog post about how to read Tarot Cards, though!
4. Go on a Road Trip
A road trip like in Paper Towns would be so cool! I’ve always wanted to go on a road trip, but when I think about that book, I want it even more!
5. Travel to the lands of the Fey
I get that this isn’t really possible, but how awesome would it be!? It’s also kind of dangerous, though… Nah! Totally worth it! I think I’ll just make sure I don’t end up in the Unseelie Court!
6. Reclaim a Kingdom
Not that I have anything to reclaim, and it sounds dangerous, and I’ll probably die. But, I mean, some of my favourite characters are reclaiming – or have reclaimed their kingdoms – and it sounds badass.
7. Go to a Different Dimension
Marguerite got in a whole lot of trouble because of interdimensional travel, but how cool would it be to live your own life, but in a different dimension?! Hopefully, I won’t end up in a dangerous one…
8. Learn How to do Magic
How awesome would it be to do magic! I’ll gladly go to Hogwarts! Ya think they accept nineteen-year-olds?
Books have a bad influence on me! It seems like everything I want to do is very dangerous and life-threatening! Thank god it’s all fictional, ha!
