August Wrap Up

I'm kind of really late with my August wrap up this month, but here it is anyway! I read lots of amazing books like A Court of Mist & Fury!I know, I know… I’m super late this month! My life has been kiiiiiinda crazy and I couldn’t find the time to publish this. But I’m actually amazed by how much I managed to read in August! Internship started halfway through the month, and I went back to college last week. I thought I had like no time to read at all (and I kind of don’t) but I still managed to read a whole lot! I read mostly during the weekend and I manage to finish a book a day sometimes. I read a whole lot of wonderful books!

A Court of Thorns & Roses and A Court of Mist & Fury by Sarah J. Maas
Oh. My. God. I cannot believe I hadn’t read these books before. ACOMAF gave me the worst book hangover ever! It’s literally the best book I’ve ever read and I’m sooooo not ready for book three!

Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban by J. K. Rowling
While everyone was reading The Cursed Child, I sat down to read the Prisoner of Azkaban! It’s definitely my favourite Harry Potter book so far, and I wrote quite a long review about it! I also cannot wait to continue the series, I’m starting to see why everybody loves it so much!

The Dream Thieves & Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater
It took me a while to get into The Dream Thieves, but I’m so glad I pushed through! The Raven Cycle is such a great series! I wasn’t even halfway through this one when I ordered Blue Lily, Lily Blue (book three) because I was so excited! Then I got Blue Lily, Lily Blue on a Friday and sat down on Saturday and finished it in one go! I cannot wait to read the Raven King!

The Graces by Laure Eve (Dutch Manuscript)
Yeah, you read that right! I read a manuscript this month! Working at a publisher has some really amazing perks. I was working on social media posts for Laure Eve events and got super curious about the book. I was being taught how to do things at my internship and as a way of learning how to print using different printers, I got a copy of the (Dutch) manuscript. I really enjoyed the story. I saw a whole lot of negative ratings on Goodreads, but please ignore those and check it out for yourself! It reminded me a bit of Carry on and Wink Poppy Midnight and it was great.

No Review (yet?) but I rated the book 3/5!

The Shadowhunter’s Codex by Cassandra Clare & Joshua Lewis
Lady Midnight sort of awakened my love for the Shadowhunter Chronicles, and I really wanted to read this one, but it wasn’t as much fun as I thought it would be! There was so much info dumping! This is a great book to use as a reference when reading the main books in the series, but other than that… It just wasn’t really my thing.

The Siren by Kiera Cass
This was one of the only audiobooks on Scribd that I found interesting enough to listen to. The Dutch edition is coming out soon, so I thought I’d listen to it because it’s published by the publisher I work at. Honestly, I don’t really know what to think of it. I enjoyed it, but it was nowhere near as good as The Selection…

Current Reads
Technically, I’m “currently reading” Under The Never Sky by Veronica Rossi, but it’s not all that interesting to me! I started reading it sometime last month and I’m not really like “oh my god, I need to finish this!” And it’s an ebook, so I’m not really feeling like I need to finish it. I do want to pick it up sometime, though! Veronica is coming to the Netherlands next year and I feel like I need to read at least one of her books.

What’s your favourite book you read in August?

  • Those books are so pleasing to the eyes! I have e-books of ACOTAR and ACOMAF that I haven’t started yet but I’ll get on it soon. I’m on a Nancy Drew kick right now. Lol!

    • I know right! They’re so pretty! 😉
I love Nancy Drew! I used to play the Nintendo DS games, hahah!
