Behind the Books: December ’16

This is my very last Behind the Books post for 2016! How crazy is that? In December's BtB, I talk about the blog, my life and my current reads!Whew, how is it December already?! January feels like only yesterday… Anyway, I am so sorry I didn’t do a Behind the Books posts for November! I wasn’t really blogging at all and decided to focus on planning and preparations instead of rushing to get things published. There are so many fun things coming up! I really needed this kind of break to think about things. But enough for now, here’s what I’ve been up to the past month or so!

The Blog

Well, like I said, I haven’t been doing much. Or at least not much you can see. I’m obviously still reading books, which I’ll be reviewing, but other than that…. I’ve been trying to create my content planner for December and January and actually stick to it, but I’m so terribly busy with college at the moment, it’s just not really working out.

Good news, though! I’ve been working really hard the past week to start publishing again! There’s some post scheduled and I’m trying my best to continue my monthly and weekly posts. I’m also catching up on reviews, so I think I can say that I’m back in business!

A Personal Update

The past month has been a bit of a rollercoaster. I’ve been through quite a difficult time and blogging was sometimes the last thing on my mind. Things weren’t really working out for me for a while and it was very demotivating. For the last week or so, it’s been going great! I’ve been feeling better and I feel like I’ve really grown as a person. Which is always nice.

Next to blogging, I’m trying to figure out what I want to do after my internship ends in April. It’s extremely difficult and everything seems impossible, but I seem to have figured it out a little… I have plenty of time between my last day of internship, my portfolio interview and the actual results to sort things out, but I like to be prepared.

November/December Book Haul

Gosh, I’ve actually gotten so many new books these past months! I’m just going to name them in no particular order because I literally do not remember how/when I got most of these, hehe! I got Ruined by Amy Tintera, All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven and the Dutch edition of Caraval by Stephanie Garber for my birthday. The lovely Laura (check out her blog Bbliophile!) send me Me Before You by Jojo Moyes and Love Letters to The Death by Ava Dellaira.  and I cannot wait to read both of them! I also got the Dutch edition of A Court of Thorns & Roses by Sarah J. Maas and The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask by Akira Himekawa, which is a manga. Last but not least, I got a beautiful hardcover edition of Heartless by Marissa Meyer from the Celebrate Books box, for which I did an unboxing!

Currently Reading

I’m currently reading This Savage Song by Victoria/V.E. Schwab! Or at least I’m trying to… It’s been on my shelf for literally ages! Even thought I don’t have much free time to read, I try my best to read (at least) two chapters a day. I haven’t picked it up for a bit but I’m hoping to get back to it soon! I’m also reading The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. Since it’s a manga, it’s an easy read and it’s really great during my short train journeys.

This is what I’ve been up to in the past few months! I cannot believe this is my last Behind the Books for 2016. Don’t worry, though! I’ll keep doing these posts in the new year, hehe!

Love,
Ayla
