August was absolutely wonderful in terms of reading! I finally finished reading Harry Potter & the Order of The Phoenix and I read the last two books in the Shades of Magic series by V.E. Schwab! I read almost everything from this months TBR and even more! Would you like to know what else I read this month? Read it in my August Wrap Up!
A Gathering of Shadows & A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab
The Shades of Magic trilogy is definitely my new favourite series! Oh my goodness, it’s just incredible! (And Victoria announced a new trilogy in the same word, WITH Shades of Magic characters, EEEPP!!) I have reviews planned for these books and I can’t wait to share them with you. Until then, you can check out my review of A Darker Shade of Magic. I honestly cannot wait to get the physical copies because I already want to read them again.
Reviews Coming Soon
Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling
OH MY GOODNESS, YOU GUYS! You won’t believe the happiness I feel from finally having this appear in my wrap up! I started reading this one on June 15th and finally – after two months – finished it on the 13th of this month. The first half was a huge struggle, but I managed to read the second half in 4 days and I’m so glad I did! I absolutely love this book, although I doubt I’ll ever read it again, hehe!
Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Cordova
I loved this book! At first I was sort of disappointed because my expectations were sky high, but in the end I really did love it. I can’t wait for the sequels! Apparently they’re told from the main character’s sisters points of view and it’s the most exciting thing ever!
Heartless by Marissa Meyer
Oh goodness, this was such a disappointment! I got Heartless in a book box back in December and I was beyond happy with the box and the book, but the book has just been on my shelf since then. I was excited when I found Heartless in that box (for which I did my first unboxing!) but it really wasn’t for me.
The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson (Audiobook)
I used my free Audible trial credit for The Kiss of Deception and I loved it so, so much! Some parts were really confusing and bit difficult due to the audio format, but there was also a lot of mystery! I loved how for a huge part of the book, you have no clue who’s good and who’s bad and just when I thought I’d figured it out, I changed my mind and then my first theory was actually the right one! The fact that the book has multiple narrators made the experience of listening to it really nice.
Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas (Reread)
You probably already know I’m rereading the entire Throne of Glass series to prepare for the release of Tower of Dawn, and I’m right on schedule! I’m getting my copy of ToD a little while after release because of international shipping/Amazon, but I’m used to it at this point so it doesn’t bother me much. Queen of Shadows was absolutely amazing again! I couldn’t remember much for reading it the first time, but it I know it was just as incredible.
Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare (Graphic Novel)
Contrary to what people keep saying, The Infernal Devices graphic novels are not mangas! Now we got that out of the way, I loved reading Clockwork Princess again in this different format! I got it off Amazon for only about €3 or 4 and I had to wait months to actually get it, but it was so worth the wait! The art is incredible and it’s just so nice to sort of have a really great “summary” of Clockwork Princess. I think I might actually (re)read this one quite often!
I’m continuing my Throne of Glass reread with Empire of Storms! Funny story: my preorder was delayed to bad I got the ebook, and then finished it before I got my hardback copy, so I haven’t actually read it yet! I’ll be reading this one a bit slower so I can write a review, but I’m excited nonetheless.
What have you read in August? Did you participate in any of the readathons (because there were A LOT!)?
