I considered not posting this month’s personal update because I’m not feeling too well, but then I found I’d already written 99% of it and decided to still hit the publish button anyway! As usual, I write a little about the blog, my personal life and my current reads! This month I also mentioned some of my favourite music, a videogame and a movie you should definitely watch!
The past month must’ve been the most productive month for the blog ever! I finished almost all September posts when we were only a few days into September and I’ve been working on my October posts ever since. Spoiler alert: during the entire month of October I’ll be blogging Monday through Friday! And the best part? Almost all those posts are going to be Autumn-themed! How cool is that? I’m really excited! I will also be feature guest bloggers and I can’t wait for you to read what they’ve written for you guys! I also answered some really fun questions on Keystroke Blog! Be sure to check out Em’s blog. 😉
A Personal Update
The job hunt continues to continue… (That doesn’t make sense at all… Hehe.) Which really sucks. Luckily, I’m a little less anxious about it than before, so that’s a good sign, I think. Meanwhile I’m at home most of time. I’m blogging, listening to music, watching stuff on TV and playing the Legend of Zelda on my Nintendo Switch. (I mean, it’s sort of a holiday for me while I continue to find a job so I might as well enjoy my time off!)
So, I’ve been playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild on my Nintendo Switch with the help of my beautiful guide book (which I’ll be doing a post about sometime in November). I also finally updated my Spotify Starred/Favourites list, so I’m listening to that one a lot. There aren’t many TV shows on at the moment, and I tend to neglect the ones I start, so I’m mostly watching movies these days. Wonder Woman was absolutely incredible (but I’m late to that party… hehe)! I also watched Carrie Pilby on Netflix and oh my goodness, Carrie Pilby is me. I am Carrie Pilby. (Except I’m not that smart and don’t live in NYC and I haven’t done it with my English teacher – thank god). Watch the trailer here, if you’re a socially awkward bookworm like me, you’ll love it! It’s also based on a book, so I might be picking that up sometime.
August/September Book Haul
I only got one book this month, which is the audiobook for A Court of Wings & Ruin by Sarah J. Maas! I’m currently listening to it and it is absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately, I had to cancel all my preorders and I couldn’t pick up any of the new releases. It’s a real bummer, but I’m hoping to get some of them for my birthday in November! I’m officially on a book buying ban until I find a job, which is not that bad since I have plenty of books to read! It just sucks a liiiiitle bit when there’s so many wonderful books coming out!
I’m listening to the audiobook of The Reptile Room by Lemony Snicket and I’m so disappointed! The story is really fun, but I expected a full cast of narrators and sound effects but there aren’t any! As it turns out, only the first Series of Unfortunate Events books has those, and the rest is just one narrator. Except for very scary coughs, there’s nothing much special about it. No problem, though! I love this series and I just have to adjust a little. I’m hoping to start The Bone Witch by Sin Chupeco tonight and finish it this weekend. I’m slowly getting through my physical TBR!
