Behind the Books: October ’17

Happy Monday, ya’ll! I have a love-hate relationship with Mondays, even though I don’t go to school or work anymore… Weird, huh? Anyway, I think we all should have a more positive attitude towards Mondays. Mine were certainly better when I thought of all the fun things that could happen in a brand new week! Oh gosh, look a me babbling about unimportant stuff! Let’s get on with my personal update, shall we?

The Blog

I’ve been blogging every weekday for two weeks now, and it’s really not my thing! I do love creating and publishing all my content, but I also feel as if it’s just too much. I’m working my blog every day and I actually find it quite stressful! I honestly cannot wait to go back to my regular publishing schedule, hehe! I don’t regret doing this, but… Well, I’m better at just posting things three times a week.

I’m working on a few side projects! I’m hoping to maybe start hosting my Twitter chats again, and I really want to do a readathon, so I’m thinking of organising one! At the same time, I’m terrified of failure and I don’t really want to do big things like this because I’m scared no one will participate and I’ll look like a fool… Oh well, we never know if we don’t try, right? Let me know what you guys think!

A Personal Update

I’m still looking for jobs and it’s making me more anxious by the day. I really need to find a job soon! I’m sure it’ll be okay, but it’s a bit stressful. Other than that, I finally went to Rotterdam again yesterday! I used to go to college there and my favourite bookshop is there as well. It’s also just my favourite place to be in general, I absolutely love the city!

ALSO, I’m doing NaNoWriMo! Oh my goodness, you guys! I’m so excited! I’ve been working on it for about a week now, and it’s goig to be one of my most exciting projects yet (I think). You can read a little bit about it on my Tumblr. I’ve also written a post on outlining!

I “finished” playing Zelda Breath of the Wild this month! EEEKK!! So, this game is quite a big deal to actually 100% finish as there are like a billion side quests, but I finished the main quests and defeated evil! YAY! I’ve also been playing League of Legends again after months! I’ve levelled up two levels so far and it’s so excited! I’m actually much better at video games than I thought I was… hehe!

I’ve also been watching some more TV shows lately. Almost all my shows are back on since this month so I’ve been watching Scorpion, Riverdale and Once Upon A Time again! I’ve also started watching Dynasty and the first episode was really great! These are pretty much all the shows that are on this Autumn/Winter, and I feel like that’s so little compared to what I used to watch! Oh well, Stranger Things is coming back to Netflix at the end of the month, so I’ll be able to binge that! 😉

September/October Book Haul

“Technically” I’m still on my book buying ban. But why would I be on one when have no money, anyway? I’ve stopped buying eBooks from the Bookbub emails and I haven’t gotten any physical copies of books for months (like June or July!) so I’m doing quite well, if I say so myself! I did “sort of” break my book buying ban, though!

I got the audiobook of Geekerella by Ashley Poston off Audible when it was a Daily Deal, because I was still looking for an audiobook for the drive to Germany when I’m going there this weekend! I also went to Rotterdam to meet my best friend and got two Pinguin Little Black Classics! I’ve been wanting to pick them up for a while now, and they were only €1,50 each! I got Green Tea by Sheridan Le Fanu and The Night Is Darkening Round Me by Emily Brontë. I didn’t know what to expect from either of them, so they were kind of randomly chosen.

Currently Reading

I’m currently reading Traveler by Arwen Elys Dayton and it’s so surprisingly good! I read quite a bit of it last night as I couldn’t sleep and I’m just… speechless! This book is so underrated but so frickin’ good! Like… Woah, guys. I’ll probably post my review next month, but you can pick it up before then! Also, you can read by review of Seeker if you’d like! I’m also reading Green Tea by Sheridan Le Fanu. It’s so interesting! Obviously it’s a classic so it’s very different from YA, but it’s not as difficult as I thought I’d be. Also, apparently it’s like a Victorian ghost story, which is absolutely perfect for this time of year!
