February ’18 Wrap Up

I didn’t do a wrap up in January because I barely read anything and I was in a huge slump. Then I decided to combine it with my February wrap up but I read so much in February that I took it out again! Basically, it’s been a bit weird these past few weeks, hehe. I’m glad to say the amazing books I read this month got my out a reading (and blogging) slump, and I hope everything goes according to plan and I can continue my regular blogging schedule! Anyway, here’s what I’ve read in February.

Truthwitch & Sightwitch (Preview Excerpt) by Susan Dennard

You might have seen I was part of the Sightwitch blog tour earlier this month! I had just started reading Truthwitch when it was announced and since I loved it pretty much from the start, I was very excited to join the tour. I kind of had to rush through these, but it was so great! I got the Sightwitch preview excerpt off Netgalley and WOW-WEE! It’s so cool! I read them digitally, but I really hope to pick up the physical copies of the series!

The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice & Virtue by Mackenzi Lee

I had listened to The Gentleman’s Guide before on Storytel, but I loved it so, so, so much that I wanted it available to me at all times and decided to get it on Audible! Audible’s return/exchange service is wonderful so I just picked an audiobook I knew I was never going to listen to again (Sorry, Kiss of Deception…) and exchanged it for this one. Best decision ever! Listening to it for the second time was just as wonderful as the first! And it’s also gotten me through quite a difficult time, so it’s maybe even twice as wonderful!

Children of Blood & Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

I requested the chapter sampler of Children of Blood & Bone a few months ago and I loved it so, so much! I just wanted more, but obviously I only got like six chapters… Then I somehow got lucky and when I downloaded the sampler again a few weeks later, I suddenly found the full ARC on my iPad! This book got me out of my reading slump because it’s absolutely incredible and I cannot wait for the world to read it when it finally releases next week!

Reign of the Fallen by Sarah Glenn Marsh

I did a Waiting on Wednesday post for Reign of the Fallen and got the audiobook on Audible when I – finally!!! – got my new credit. I loved it so, so much! The plot and characters were really interesting, the romance felt super realistic and I was so pleasantly surprised! I missed some tiny details while listening to the audiobook, but it was still very easy to follow and I actually really want to get a physical copy of this!

The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

Unfortunately, this was a little bit of a letdown for me. The end definitely made up for the beginning, but it really didn’t live up to the hype I’ve seen on Twitter! Everyone seemed to be reading (and loving!) the book so I picked it up at the bookshop when I was in Rotterdam in January and I was excited to read it, but I guess it could’ve been better. I still really enjoyed it, though! I bet my review will be very interesting… (Once I manage to type it out, hehe!)

To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo

WOW-WEE! I got an ARC of To Kill A Kingdom through Netgalley and I got so excited but I was also kinda scared I wouldn’t like it but IT’S INCREDIBLE?! I was kind of worried I would’t be able to finish it in time to have my review up on publication date (March 6th) but it was so interesting and fun and quite a quick read too! I was terrified it would be like Siren by Kiera Cass (which was great but… too girly and sweet for me) but that SO wasn’t the case.

Current Reads

I’ve been reading Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling for aaaaaages now, but I’m planning on finishing it ASAP. And I’m currently listening to Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard and I’m at a very exciting point in the story! Also, I’ve bumped up my listening speed to 1.5 instead of 1.25 and it’s so nice and I’m going through it a bit quicker now!

What have you been reading in February? Did you pick up any romantic reads for Valentine’s Day?
