March ’18 Wrap Up

I guess you could say March was Leigh Bardugo month when it comes to my reading. I actually think I started reading most of them in February, but then I finished most of them in March so… Maybe both months weird Bardugo month? I LOVE these books, you guys! I’d never read the Grisha books before but I’m so glad I did! I did also pick up some other books, of course. Here’s what I read in March.

Here’s what was on my March TBR!

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

I got the audiobook on sale on Audible and even though I didn’t really know what to think of it before I started listening, I was surprised by how much I liked it! I doubt I’ll ever be picking up the rest of the series, but I enjoyed Red Queen nonetheless.

Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo

I gotta admit: I didn’t think Shadow & Bone was super special. I guess it was huge when it first came out, but over the past few years, I feel like books have just gotten better and… I don’t know? It felt like a typical “this released years ago”-kind of book. Which is totally fine! Because I abso-bloody-lutely loved it. I’ve fallen completely in love with the Grishaverse!

Six of Crows by Leigh Bargudo

WOW-WEE, this was amazing?! I listened to the audiobook (which was confusing at first because omg Tristan Morris made it feel like I was listening to Geekerella again… oops?) but oh my, oh my, I’m in love! I actually like this one WAY more than Shadow & Bone. And the narration was done so well?! I’m obsessed. Obviously I started Crooked Kingdom right after, hehe!

Simon vs. the Home Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

I so was NOT going to buy a book when I went to Rotterdam this month. You know the first thing I did? I BOUGHT A BOOK! But I’m so glad I did and it was so worth it because oh my goodness this was adorable and delightful AND I’M IN LOVE. I read over half of it in just like two hours and I completely lost myself in it and it was the most amazing thing ever. It made me so happy!

Winter Glass by Lexa Hillyer

I was asked to join the blog tour for Winter Glass, and I got sent a PDF of the book! I started reading right away and I’m so happy I did! I definitely struggled a bit with things I couldn’t remember from Spindle Fire, but overall it was an amazing book and the end was so satisfying!

Siege & Storm by Leigh Bardugo

At this point in the wrap up, I’m thinking “What?! How did I finish this?” I was literally planning on turning my April TBR in a “currently reading” post because I was drowning in current reads and I’m just like… HOW?! Anyway, I absolutely loved Siege & Storm, but I’m kind of glad I couldn’t continue with Ruin & Rising right away because I’m like “what even happened in this book?” and I just realised I still need to review it. Oh, my goodness. Help.

Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi

Reading this book got quite stressful because I read it for an online book club and I felt so bad for being “behind” and taking forever to finish it, but it was so incredible and so easy to get through and I loved it so freaking much?! Like, I barely remembered anything for the “original” trilogy but everything felt so familiar and asdfghjkl I’m obsessed! Can we just get book five already?

Current Reads

I’m currently listening to Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo and I feel like I’m taking forever to get through it! The chapters are really long and since I’m exhausted most of the time, I fall asleep a bit too easily. I hope to get through this hour-long chapter today for the second time (as I fell asleep halfway through only a few days ago) and I’m sure after that I’ll fly through it!  I’m also STILL trying to finish Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling. I have four days off now and I’m not reading anything else besides Crooked Kingdom, so I’m not picking up anything else until I’ve read the final page! It’s about time, you guys!
