5 YA Bad Guys Who’re Actually Cinnamon Rolls

I love bad guys in books. Especially when they’re actually just as sweet and lovely as cinnamon rolls. There’s nothing better than falling in love with a bad guy, right?! And then discovering they’re just the sweetest boys ever. RIGHT?! If you couldn’t tell yet, I really love a cinnamon roll who’s simply disguised as a bad guy. Here are my five favourites!

Levi, Ace of Shades

Levi’s my #1 cinnamon roll. Oh. My. Goodness. He might seem like some evil gang lord in a grim and dark city, but if you get closer you’ll notice how sweet he actually is! He’s just trying to make up for the bad stuff he’s done and he’s just so, so lovely to Enne.

Devereux, These Rebel Waves

You might not have had the pleasure yet to be introduced to Vex from Sara Raasch’s latest book, but you can take my word for it: this is a sweetheart in disguise! He’s an 11/10 when it comes to working with kids, his backstory is super heartbreaking and above all; he cares SO MUCH about his friends.

Liam, Everless

All throughout listening to the audiobook of Everless, I knew something was up with Liam. And guess what?! Behind that cold hard facade of his, he’s actually a cinnamon roll?! Like, hello, plot twist! He’s just trying to do his best to protect the ones he loves and gaaaahhh I can’t wait for Evermore!

Kaz, Six of Crows

Do I really need to tell you guys about Kaz? Because it seems pretty obvious from where I’m standing! Does he really even try NOT to be a dear? I mean, sure, he can kick some serious ass. But there’s more to him than that! To be quite honest I don’t remember why exactly he’s a cinnamon roll but he just is!

Cardan, The Cruel Prince

So, Cardan’s cinnamon roll-ness is somewhere deep, deep, deep, deep, DEEP down in him. I originally wasn’t going to add him to the list because I didn’t really like the book all that much and ugh, no amount of hate-to-love can fix my dislike for him. Or so I thought. I guess he’s a pretty decent cinnamon roll, in his own bad guy ways!? But he’s like one of those cinnamon rolls that you get at a store but they’re not as good as homemade ones, you know? OK, shutting up now…

So, is there anyone who I’ve missed? Are all bad boys secretly cinnamon rolls?

PS. I’ve reviewed all these books! You can find them in my review archive.
