How to Take Control of Your (Goodreads) TBR

Bookish people generally have huge TBRs. I mean, would we really be bookish people without a mountain’s worth of books we want to read before we grow old and die? Well… Actually, yes, you can still be a bookish person without a TBR pile that could fall over and kill you any second… And it’s not as hard as you might think. If one of your new year’s resolutions is to take control of your TBR, here’s how it’s done. Read more

Behind the Books: December ’17

The past month has been absolutely crazy in both the worst and best way possible! I talk all about it in my monthly Behind the Books post.

The first draft of this post was an absolute mess. It was to be expected, as I had an absolute mess of a month. In a good way, though. Or, in the best way, actually! The last two weeks of November were extremely difficult, but things really turned around for me in December. Honestly, I just cannot wait to share it all with you guys, so let’s dive straight into my monthly personal update. Read more

Bookish Naughty or Nice Tag

I was tagged to do the bookish Naughy or Nice Tag! Am I on the naughty list this year? Or have I been nice enough to receive a present? Read and find out!

When Emily @ AlwaysOpinionatedGirl asked on Twitter if anyone would like to be tagged in a Christmassy book tag, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity! I haven’t done a tag in a while and I have less Christmassy posts scheduled than I’d like to, so this is a nice addition to what I’ve already lined up for you guys. Anyway, this is a bookish Naughty or Nice tag, and I can’t wait to answer the questions! Read more

Waiting on Wednesday: ’18 Releases

I usually use the Waiting on Wednesday meme as a spotlight on future releases that I’m excited about. But today’s WoW will be a little different. There are so many wonderful books being released next year and I’ll probably do a spotlight on them later, but for now I’ve decided to make a roundup of books that I’m excited about! This is definitely not all of them as there are just way too many great books to be released! Here’s a selection of the ones I’m most excited about. Read more

#BeatTheBacklist Reading Challenge 2018

Beat The Backlist is a reading challenge all about reading backlist books! I'm on team Story Sorcerers and I cannot wait to start reading!

Whew, I’m posting so many extra posts this month! There’s just so many things going on at the moment! Anyway, I wasn’t going to do any other reading challenge than the one on Goodreads, but I recently found the Beat The Backlist Challenge, and I decided to participate pretty much straight away. I have quite a few 2017 releases on my TBR that I won’t be able to read within the next two weeks, but also some older series that I really want to read next year. Basically, I’m pretty sure I can manage to read quite a few backlist titles, and I’ve decided to make it more fun with this challenge. Here’s my goal and TBR! Read more

My Bookish Christmas Wishlist

It has been absolutely ages since I last made an actual wishlist. I remember when I was little, me and my little brother would go through the toy store’s catalogue to circle the things we wanted for the Dutch holiday Sinterklaas and Christmas. Still to this day, I take a quick look at the catalogue when it falls on the doormat. I guess I’m sentimental, hehe! Anyway, Christmas is close and for the firs time in forever, I’m making a Christmas wishlist! Spoiler alert: it only has books.  Read more

Being An International Book Blogger

I must’ve written a “Being an International Book Blogger” post like three times since I started blogging in May 2016. I never published it because I felt like it wasn’t important or useful or good enough to be published. I was just complaining without reason, right? I also usually keep my opinions and ranting on my Tumblr, but with everything going on, I thought I’d make an exception. I’m absolutely devastated by the recent developments (or rather steps backwards) by Goodreads and Netgalley. I don’t think I’ll be able to say anything that hasn’t been said yet, but I wanted to share my view nonetheless. Read more

Top Ten Tuesday: Bookish Settings I’d Love to Visit

One of my first posts on this blog was a Top Ten Tuesday post, and I think that was the moment I realised how much I love books, blogging and taking bookish photos. Since were nearing the end of the year, and I haven’t done a TTT in a long time, I thought why not end the year with a fun topic? Out of all topics in December, I chose this one about settings. I love fictional places, and here are my ten favourites! Read more

Fairyloot November ’17 Unboxing | Ladies That Slay

I’m a huge fan of Fairyloot. Even though I can’t usually afford their boxes, I do keep up with their announcements! When, back in October, the “Ladies That Slay” box was announced for November I just had to get it. Luckily, it was my birthday in November! My mom got it for me as both an early and belated present, since we had to order a month before and it was delivered almost a month after, but I didn’t mind! I’m so excited about the November box, so let’s unbox this thing! Spoiler warning: contents of the November Fairyloot “Ladies That Slay” box coming up! Read more
