Although I’ve been a pretty decent reader all my life, my love for books didn’t start until about 1.5 years ago. Since I’ve started writing on Books & Babbles, my interest in anything book related has only grown. But I’ve never understood genres. Not in music, or movies, and especially not in books. What makes a book Fantasy? Or Science Fiction? I did some research, and over the next four weeks, I’ll be taking you through the different genres of YA in my first blog series: YA Genres 101! Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. I’ve been doing it for weeks now and I’m loving it so much! The topics are so much fun, but this one is probably one of my favourites. It’s all about underrated books. I don’t actually read them often, but underrated books need more attention! My list includes eight books this week. Read more
Sometime back in February, I read Throne of Glass on my iPad Mini. I was travelling to and from Austria by myself and was quite distracted (since it was my first time on a plane!) I enjoyed the story, but it didn’t really “hit” me until months later. I loved it! I wanted to continue the series, so I did something crazy and ordered book one to four in the series! I’m going to read and review all the books, but let’s start at the beginning with Throne of Glass.
New month; New TBR! I cannot believe it’s July already! I’m on summer break right now, which means I have so much time to read! This will be my last read summer vacation before I finish college next year, and also the last time I’ll be able to really use that time to do nothing other than read. I usually don’t have a lot of time to sit down and read, so I plan on using it! Read more
I consider June to be my Throne of Glass month. I started reading the series on June 2nd, I think, and continued until I finished all four books. It took me nearly all month, but the series turned out to be one of my favourites. I’ve also read a Kindle and listened to three audiobooks. I’m really happy with what I read/listened to and even though I didn’t finish all the books on my June TBR, I’m content with the amount of books that I was able to finish this month!
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish, and this might be my favourite one yet! It’s freebie week, which means everyone gets to pick their own topic. I changed mine like a billion times until I found one I really liked. So this week’s Top Ten Tuesday is the books I’d save if my bookshelf caught fire! Read more
There was a time when the only books I read were those from the movies I watched. Since last year, I’ve been reading books that haven’t been turned into movies and I love them so much more! Movie adaptations intrigue me. Sometimes they’re amazing, sometimes they’re not. But people’s opinions on those movies are what’s most interesting to me. Read more
I read The 100 a few months ago and when I was moving reviews from my old blog to Books & Babbles, for some reason I didn’t publish this one. Later, I saw no reason to published it at all, but then I found out there’s a new book on the way! The 100 is the book the show was based on and books with movie or tv adaptions are always a bit scary to me. They can be a huge success or a huge failure. Luckily, The 100 wasn’t that bad at all!
Last week was all about my most anticipated reads for the second half of 2016, but this week’s Top Ten Tuesday (created by the lovely people over at The Broke and the Bookish) is all about my favourite releases so far! I’ve barely read books that came out this year, but I have quite a few that I’m really excited about. Read more
If you’re looking for a story that’s as beautiful as the cover of the book, I suggest you go get yourself a copy of Ten Thousand Skies Above You by Claudia Gray. It’s book two in the Firebird trilogy. I waited for this book for almost a year and it was definitely worth the wait. Here’s my spoiler free review! Read more
